Description

We are a relatively small and friendly school, located 100km north of Tokyo.
We think anyone who wants to both teach and experience life in Japan will enjoy working here.

Our school specializes in teaching oral English to Japanese students of a wide range of ages, abilities, and backgrounds. Classes are held at both our school and companies. The instructor may also expect to assist Japanese instructors with kids's classes (kindergarten, elementary school, and Jr./Sr. high schools). In some cases, he will be required to teach them unassisted.

The adult classes include company classes and private lessons that may require specialized training. Jr. and Sr. high school students study mainly to supplement their regular school work. Elementary school students learn simple oral and written English primarily through activities and games. Most classes are small (1-6 students), though there are a few big group classes.

Teachers are required to use texts designated by the school, but have some freedom to use their own ideas and contribute to the development of materials.

SALARY; Starting teachers will be \240,000 to \260,000 per month, depending on qualifications and experience. Some housing assistance provided. We prefer native speakers with experience teaching English as a foreign language, some background in TESL studies, linguistics, or substantial cross-cultural living experience. The minimum requirement is a B.A. degree.

BONUS In addition to the basic salary, there will be a monthly bonus of \10,000 if the teacher is NOT LATE or ABSENT for work during that month. In other words, s/he will lose the bonus (\10,000) if he was LATE or ABSENT during that month. The bonus is accumulated over the year and paid upon successful completion of a year contract.

WORKING HOURS & SCHEDULE; Instructors are expected to contribute 40 hour per week, including actual teaching(up tp 25 hrs), and office hours (used for preparation and other task needed by school management)) and transportation (riding trains/buses/taxi to classes).

We will make contacts to only people who we thought he/she is appropriate to the job.
