Located in Shiba in the heart of Tokyo, Laurus International School of Science is the first and only STEM school in Japan. Position Overview:
We are seeking passionate and experienced Teachers to join our dynamic science faculty. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in science education, with a commitment to inspiring and engaging students from diverse cultural backgrounds. The role involves teaching general science to primary students, helping them develop both intellectually and academically.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and deliver a comprehensive science curriculum for primary students.
Teach concepts and principles, ensuring students gain a thorough understanding and appreciation of the subject.
Integrate technology into the curriculum to enhance learning experiences.
Collaborate with other faculty members to create interdisciplinary learning experiences.
Provide individualized instruction and support to students, fostering a love for learning and encouraging their academic development.
Stay current with developments in education and technology, incorporating new methods and tools into the classroom.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Science education or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
Fluency in English.
Teaching certification or relevant teaching experience in an international school setting.
Proficiency in using educational technology and tools to enhance learning.
Strong subject knowledge in science.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural and diverse environment.
Passion for teaching and a commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience living and working in an international setting.
Experience with Cambridge International Curriculum.
Working Hours:
Monday to Friday
8:30 to 17:30 with a one-hour break (Various shift times available at 8 hrs work /1 hr break)
40 hours per week
Benefits:
Competitive salary package based on a 15-point salary scale based on qualifications and years of qualified teaching experience (minimum 410,000 yen per month)
