The Veritas team are looking for new passionate members to join their diverse team on a part-time basis. We will accept candidates with student, working holiday, or other visas allowing you to work in Japan.
Our mission at Veritas is to develop inspiring global leaders of tomorrow.
Through deep discussions, the study of business leaders, logical writings and other practices, we help our students develop their opinion articulation, delivery engagement and leadership mindset so they can express themselves in an effective and impactful way.
We adopt a coaching approach to foster the growth of our students’ abilities which is quite different to traditional TEFL and English language schools. Some teaching and training experience is a plus, but not at all necessary.
The training of our coaches is something we invest a lot of time in. When you work at Veritas, you can expect a career-long training process and support. Our approach will help you build broad and lasting coaching skills – skills which not only will make you a better coach but also develop qualities which can be applied to all aspects of your career and life.
In addition to coaching, there may be opportunities to experience and engage in business communication in Japanese with our clients.
You will also be joining Veritas at an exciting point as we develop new services to expand our reach and you will be working together with motivated and passionate members of our core team to help achieve this.
All new joiners will join at the entry Program Assistant grade while we train them. While this position is ideal for new graduates and someone looking for a change at an early stage of their career, we also welcome open-minded applicants with any professional business experience who are keen to develop their skills further and support our students.
Not only is Veritas a place to learn, it is also a place to enjoy working with a diverse, family-like community, including our coach team, and current and former students.
If this sounds like a great place for you, here are some requirements we have for our new coaches:
- Have native or near-native level of English
- Be passionate about helping others develop as well as learning from them
- Be open-minded, willing to learn and committed to self-development
- Have a professional attitude and enjoy working and building trust with others
- Have a visa allowing you to work in Japan
Notes:
- New joiners start part-time as Program Assistants with opportunities for full-time employment with visa sponsorship in the future
- A teaching background/qualification is not necessary
- Workdays are Tuesday – Saturday. Initial working hours/days to be discussed at interview (typically 15-25 hours per week)
- This is a salaried position so we pay per hour, not per class (we consider training, preparation, time working together to be just as important as class time)
- While there are opportunities for remote working, in principle work is performed at our office in Minato-ku, Tokyo.
