[Urgent] Full Time Math Instructor for Jr. High School - Setagaya, Tokyo（到期)

Berkeley House Language Center is urgently seeking a diligent, friendly, and experienced full time instructor who can teach English to advanced level of students of the international course at a private junior high school in Setagaya, Tokyo.

[Duration of the contract]
Sept 2024 - Mar 2025

First Year - Dispatch
Second Year - Possibility of Direct Hire

[Basic schedule & duties ]
-Five days a week between Monday and Saturday (TBD)
-Regular Hours: 8:10 am - 5:10 pm
-Days with Faculty Meetings 8:10 am ~6:10 pm (once a month)
*Workdays and times are tentative
**Will be required to work outside of regular hours for special school events

-Teach Maths (and possibly some English) based on the school curricula
-As the school has started the new international program from April 2023, the number of lessons per week are about 15 in total for the 1st year & 2nd year students, which are now conducted by only one teacher there; thus they would like to have another Math teacher who can help with this.
-Work other than teaching: create lesson plans, prepare materials/tests/exams, assess student progress, attend/coach extra curricula activities and special events, prepare students to study abroad, etc.
-Must be able to work with other international teachers including Japanese teachers effectively.

295,000 JPY/Month (Determined per skill requirements)

[Requirements]
・ Are a native level English speaker
・ Have received education where the language of instruction is English from Elementary School and upwards.
・ Possess a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited University in Mathematics or in a related field (The main language of instruction must be English)
・ Have a minimum of 3 years of experience teaching Mathematics at a JHS/SHS Level
・ Have experience teaching and extensive knowledge of International Curricula:IB, Cambridge, etc.
・ Experience teaching high-level English students preparing to enter overseas universities
・ Experience teaching preparation courses for entry to overseas universities
・Hold a teaching license or certificate from an accredited organization, such as CELTA, DELTA, MA TESOL, etc., which should include a practicum as part of the course work.
・ Are team-players
・ Have a high proficiency level in Japanese (preferred)
