We are looking for someone who can work a five day a week schedule from Mondays to Thursdays and Saturdays (altogether 5 days a week but Saturdays are half-days).

This position starts in the Summer, 2023 and runs through the end of the Japanese school year, with the possibility for a full year contract starting in April, 2024.

Our compensation package includes

• A monthly pre-tax salary of 280,000 yen per month
• Transportation expenses will be fully covered and reimbursed.
• A Japanese school year based renewable contract.
• Remuneration is not reduced during summer, winter, or spring vacations.

Our ideal candidate:

• can reach the school within one hour from their home.
• has at least one year experience teaching at a public or private secondary school in Japan.
• can work Saturdays (half days only).
• can join periodic overnight school trips and open school days.
• is comfortable with both solo and team teaching classes of up to 40 students.
• is able and willing to teach with a Japanese co-teacher in a Japanese school classroom and can effectively collaborate with teachers both in and outside the classroom.
• can independently develop lesson plans, create instructional materials, and deliver engaging lessons following both written and verbal guidelines.
• is able and willing to follow lesson plans designed by others
• is able to be a team player with both Japanese and non-Japanese teachers to work within an established curriculum.
• wants to take the initiative in terms of lesson planning and classroom management but is also willing to share ideas and compromise while keeping a positive attitude with the staff and teachers, Japanese and non-Japanese, at our client school as well as with our off-site office and executive team.
• speaks English at a native-level proficiency (Native tongue).
• current holders of visas allowing work in Japan.

We will give special consideration to candidates who:

• have experience teaching EIKEN.
• have a TESOL-certificate from an accredited institution.

Candidates whose resumes and cover letters show that they meet these requirements and who we feel will be a good match for the school will be contacted for an interview.

Due to the number of resumes we receive we are unable to contact all applicants, but we do keep resumes on file and if you do not hear from us for this position, we may contact you in the future if a more suitable position becomes available.
