IDEAL CANDIDATE: We are looking for two confident, dedicated, and energetic teachers to fill two EFL positions. Each position is assigned two nursery schools (one set of schools are in Adachi-ku, and the other set are in Sumida-ku). Candidates must have a university degree and two years experience working with children, and be passionate, energetic, and hard-working. A conversational Japanese ability is preferred but not required.
POSITION DETAILS: The positions are Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 5:30 pm schedule and involves teaching English classes to groups of up to fourteen children aged between 3 and 6 years of age (classes are divided by age group). Teachers are given an iPad that is used for lesson preparation and teaching. Outside of class time, the teacher helps out as a nursery assistant.
LOCATION: The two nursery schools on the first schedule are located near Ayase and Kita Ayase stations. The two nursery schools on the second schedule are located near Kinshicho and Kiba stations.
START DATE: The start date for this position is March 28th, 2022.
TRAINING: Initial training will be 1 week of training (fully paid). There will also be support and training days provided throughout the year.
COMPENSATION: The first three months is a probation period and the wage will be ¥280,000 per month. Following probation, the wage will be ¥300,000 per month for the remainder of the first contract (subsequent contracts will come with length-of-service wage increases up to a maximum of ¥325,000). Transportation will be reimbursed up to ¥15,000 per month. The teachers will also be signed up for social insurance and pension.
RECRUITMENT PROCESS: We will screen resumes to check that minimum requirements are met. Candidates will be contacted to arrange face-to-face interviews at our Meguro HQ or Skype web-interviews for those who live outside Tokyo. Candidates will be asked to bring with them their residence cards, passports, copies of qualifications, and letters of reference. Following the first round of interviews candidates will be short-listed for a second round of interviews, which will include a trial lesson. At the completion of the second round of interviews, a decision will be made. Once that final decision has been made we will contact all candidates to inform them of the decision. The successful candidate will then meet with us again to sign employment documentation.
