Berkeley House Language Center is seeking cheerful, friendly, and experienced English instructors for full-time positions starting April 2022 in Chiba. Positions will be mainly at private junior/senior high schools and some kindergartens.
General Schedule & Conditions:.
Working days:
-Five days a week between Monday ~ Saturday
-Typically Monday to Friday but depending on assignment Tuesday to Saturday is possible
At junior/senior high schools, the basic schedule should be from 8:30am - 3/4/5:00pm
-5 lessons on average per day would be typical but could change case by case
-work other than teaching: preparing materials/tests, taking care of extra activities
-must be able to work with Japanese teachers effectively
-may need to occasionally work outside of regular hours for school events
-depending on assignment, may require teaching at multiple locations
At other locations, teaching venues could be
-a private college in Tokyo area
-university extension courses on campuses
-one to one lessons at our school in Ichigaya
Salary:
-Starting from 250,000 yen a month + transportation expenses will be reimbursed monthly
-Social insurance coverage (health insurance + pension), employment insurance coverage
-10 paid vacation days after the six month probationary period
Contract period:
April 2022 - Mar 2023
(Possibility of renewal depending on performance)
Requirements:
1. Experience teaching at private JHS/HS in Japan
2. Native speaker of English
3. Friendly/cheerful personality
4. University degree
5. TEFL/TESPL/CELTA/Teaching license (preferred)
6. Knowledge and teaching experience of English tests: IELTS/TOEFL/EIKEN/TOEIC/Cambridge exams, etc.
7. Knowledge of international curricula: IB/SAT/GCSE/IGCSE/etc.
