[Science Background] 2021 Full time English Instructor for Jr. Sr. High School（期限切れ）

Berkeley House Language Center is seeking cheerful, friendly, and experienced English instructors with a background in Science: Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Engineering, Computer Science, etc. for full-time positions starting April 2021 in the Tokyo area.

Our clients' needs have become more & more diversified in recent years and we are eagerly seeking teachers with various backgrounds not only in English but in subjects like Science, Maths, Creative Arts (drama, arts, etc.), SDGs, TOEFL/IELTS exam prep experience, as well as experience instructing SAT/IB based curricula.

General Schedule & Conditions:

Working days:
-Five days a week between Monday ~ Saturday
-Typically Monday to Friday but depending on assignment Tuesday to Saturday is possible

At junior/senior high schools, the basic schedule should be from 8:30 am - 3/4/5:00 pm
-5 lessons on average per day would be typical but could change case by case
-work other than teaching: preparing materials/tests, taking care of extra activities
-must be able to work with Japanese teachers effectively
-may need to occasionally work outside of regular hours for school events
-depending on the assignment, may require teaching at multiple locations

At other locations, teaching venues could be
-a private college in the Tokyo area
-university extension courses on campuses
-private lessons at our school in Ichigaya

Salary:
-250,000 yen a month + transportation expenses will be reimbursed monthly
-Completion bonus at the end of the school year up to 100,000yen upon the perfect attendance for the school year
-Social insurance coverage (health insurance + pension), employment insurance coverage
-Paid vacation days of 10 after six months of employment


Contract period: April 2021 - Mar 2022

Requirements:

1. Experience teaching at JHS/HS in Japan
2. Native speaker of English
3. University degree; Science major (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Computer science, etc)
4. Experience teaching IELTS/TOEFL/EIKEN/TOEIC preparation, as well as, IB and SAT.
5. Friendly/cheerful personality
6. Team worker
