Berkeley House Language Center is urgently seeking cheerful, friendly and experienced English instructors for full-time positions at Jr. and Sr. High Schools, within the Tokyo metropolitan area, starting October or November 2020.
Our clients' needs have become more & more diversified in recent years and we are actively searching for instructors who are able to instruct not only academic English but as well as various subject matters such as science, math, IT, etc. Knowledge and experience teaching TOEFL, IELTS, SAT, International Baccalaureate curricula, is a definite plus.
General Schedule & Conditions:
October or November 2020 ~ March 2021
*Possible opportunity to renew contract for the 2021 Academic Year.
Tokyo metropolitan area
*Please note, depending on the schools you may be required to teach one or more schools at various locations or other venues such as private colleges, university extension courses on campus, our physical school in Ichigaya, etc.
-Five days a week between Monday ~ Saturday
-Typically Monday to Friday but dependent on the assigned school schedule.
- The basic schedule would be from 8:30am - 3/4/5:00pm
- 5 lessons on average per day would be typical but could change case by case
-Instruct English lessons or other immersion type lesson in various teaching capacities: team teaching (lead or ALT) and/or solo teaching.
-Plan, prepare, execute and assess lessons, activities, lesson materials, and tests as required.
-Participate and/or supervise in Extra Curricular activities such as: English Clubs, Speech Contests, etc.
-250,000 yen a month + transportation expenses will be reimbursed monthly
-Social insurance coverage (health insurance + pension), employment insurance coverage
-Completion bonus at the end of school year dependent on performance and attendance
-10 paid vacation days after the six month probationary period
1. Experience teaching at private JHS/HS in Japan
2. Native speaker of English
3. Friendly/cheerful personality
4. University degree (Degrees other than English such as Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Computer science etc welcomed)
5. Team worker
6. Able to start teaching full time from October / November 2020.
We are looking for instructors who are able to:
-Work with Japanese teachers effectively
-Occasionally work outside of regular hours for school events
-Depending on assignment, teach at multiple locations
