Requirements

  • English: Native level (preferred)
  • Japanese: Conversational (preferred)
  • Must currently reside in Japan
  • 12 years of education where English was the medium of instruction (all subjects)
  • University graduate with bachelor’s degree or higher (any field)
  • Able to commit to a full year contract with minimal consecutive absences
  • Strong desire to work with young learners (15 years or lower)
  • Valid work visa (eligible to work in Japan; we are unable to accept Tourist/Temporary visas)
  • Visa sponsorship available

ALTs work in public schools, teaching alongside Japanese teachers and participating in classes and daily school life throughout the day. Our remaining ALT positions are at both elementary or junior high levels, and they're just waiting for you!

In addition to those stated at the top of this advertisement, successful candidates should have the following qualities:

● Have strong verbal and written communication skills
● Being in good health
● Be an excellent, highly adaptable team player
● Be highly motivated, outgoing, flexible, and friendly

*While not required in every position, the ability to drive in Japan is highly valued and does greatly expand the range of possible positions. If you currently posses an International Driving Permit (IDP) or Japanese driver's license or are looking to get one, be sure to let us know!
