About Kochi Prefecture:
Kochi is a prefecture of Japan located on the south coast of Shikoku. The city is small and friendly, with a casual atmosphere and a dose of southern flair.
Kochi city is the capital city of Kochi Prefecture and the main city of the prefecture with over 40% of its population.
Tosa city is a middle town within Kochi prefecture in the Shikoku region. It is famous for an abundance of sunshine, and soothing waters in the form of clear rivers and lengthy coastlines.
About the position:
The placement will be in kindergarten, elementary schools and junior high schools in Tosa city, and high schools in Kochi city, Kochi Prefecture where the ALT will assist as a team teacher and help plan English lessons under a schedule created by GLAD and the Board of Education. As well as teaching English lessons, you may also be asked to participate in other school activities such as clubs, cleaning the school, and cultural festivals. You will be teaching with Japanese teacher so that flexibility is important for co-teaching.
Contract term:
April 2020 (ASAP) - March 31st 2021

Conditions
・Monthly base compensation: From ¥230,000 per month (It will be decided after some interviews)
・Working hours: Monday through Friday
- Kindergarten: 8:30am-4:00pm
- Elementary school and Junior high school: 8:00am-4:00pm
- High school: 8:30am-4:15pm
・Placement: Kindergartens, Elementary schools and junior high schools throughout Tosa city

Qualifications
・Native English Speaker or individual who has acquired an education in English for at least 12 years
・Holder of a university Bachelor's degree (or higher)
・Holder of a valid visa status that allows work in Japan (visa sponsorship/renewal available)
・Holder of a Japanese driver's license or international driving permit in order to commute to schools
・Able to speak conversational Japanese: communication is crucial for planning and creating lessons with Japanese teachers of English. We also highly suggest that teachers be able to be involved with the communities here
