Description

ALTIA CENTRAL is accepting applications from in-country candidates to join our team of fantastic ALTs for a NEW contract in Izunokuni, Shizuoka from April, 2020. If you would like to work with one of the most reputable and successful companies in the ALT industry, then please apply now.

We will once again be conducting 1-on-1 interviews in Shizuoka on several upcoming weekends, including the weekend of February 22nd and 23rd for positions in Izunokuni and other areas of Shizuoka. We also interview on an ongoing basis in our head office in Nagoya, our branch office in Osaka, and we frequently travel to other cities such as Tokyo and Shizuoka for weekend interviews. In addition to that, this year we will also be visiting Sapporo and Fukuoka for weekend interviews.

Izunokuni is located in the eastern part of Shizuoka Prefecture on the Izu Penensula. The surrounding area is filled with hills and hot springs. With sights like the Panorama Park that boasts a great view of Mount Fuji and the bay area, as well as the Nirayama Reverberatory Furnaces, which is a UNESCO World Heritage site, there is certainly plenty to see and do.

In addition to Izunokuni, we are also looking for ALTs in other areas of Shizuoka such as Gotemba, Ito, Kosai, Makinohara, Omaezaki, and Shimada in which we currently have contracts.

Our ideal applicant is a native English speaker with a bachelor's degree (or higher) who is flexible, culturally sensitive, and motivated to go the extra mile to provide a positive experience for students.

We would also prefer applicants who have previously spent some time studying or working in Japan, and as many ALT positions do require driving, we prefer people who can or would be able to drive in Japan.

ALTs work in public schools assisting Japanese teachers, helping to provide enjoyable and energetic lessons, and interacting with the students both inside and outside the classroom. Working as an ALT is a great opportunity to improve your Japanese language ability through cooperation with Japanese staff, to experience and appreciate cultural differences, and most importantly, to be positively involved with the development and well-being of young children.

ALTIA CENTRAL enjoys an excellent reputation, positive relationships with Boards of Education, and is respected by the English teaching community in Japan. We operate mostly in the Chubu area, especially Aichi, Gifu, Mie, and Shizuoka prefectures, areas further west such as Shiga, Okayama, and Hiroshima, along with a number of contracts in the Kansai area as well.

Our highly experienced native-English speaking supervisors offer a stable, reliable and extremely professional support system. We also provide excellent teacher training, a wide array of top-quality educational resources and a comprehensive benefits package including generously paid vacation periods.

Successful applicants will need to be available for a full 4-day Orientation/Training session in late March before starting in school from April 1st, 2020. If you are interested in applying and have the work ethic and enthusiasm to represent our values while making a real difference in Japan's public schools, please visit our Recruiting website for further details about ALTIA CENTRAL.
