The leading international Montessori school in Tokyo is looking for an experienced and creative part-time Art Teacher to join their successful team in 2019. With over 170 students representing more than 30 countries, We provide four programme levels; Little People (for 2-3 year olds), Sunshine (for 3-6 year olds), Elementary (for 6-12 year olds) and Middle School (for 12-15 year olds).

The Art Teacher strives to share the joy of art with students through structured group lessons and supporting individualised work. Working primarily with the Elementary level (6-12 years olds), the Art Teacher will also collaborate with classroom teachers to ensure that classrooms are rich in artistic activity.

Desirable:
AMI Montessori qualification
Tertiary qualifications in art or design-related fields.

Minimum Hours: Weekday afternoons, 11h30 to 15h30.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

-Provide formal art lessons(1.5 hours) to all Elementary students once a week.
-Provide open art room time for student
-Ensure that Transparent Classroom is up to date and lessons are recorded on a regular basis, as well as updates on social media platforms e.g. Twitter Provide recess relief to classrooms on a regular basis.
-Ensure that the art room environment is beautiful and is an inviting space for children and that materials are in stock, including managing orders for upcoming projects
-Plan and prepare for lessons that are appropriate for students at various ages.
