ALTIA CENTRAL is accepting applications to join our new team of ALTs for openings in Etajima, Hiroshima Prefecture, from April 2019. If you would like to work in a public school with one of the most reputable and successful companies in the ALT industry, then please apply now.

Etajima is a beautiful island cradled in the bay of Hiroshima, which it share with the world famous island Miyajima. Etajima is known in the area for its delicious olives and oysters, its beaches, sporting events (cycling and marathons) and scenic coast lines, giving the island plenty of charm for each season. For drivers, Etajima is just over an hour away from Hiroshima city, and is slightly over 30 minutes away from the neighboring ship-building city of Kure, which has a population of 220,000 people.

ALTIA CENTRAL will be conducting weekday interviews on an ongoing basis at our head office in Nagoya and our Kansai office in Osaka to fill this and other positions, so we are looking for as many great applicants as possible.

Our ideal applicant is a native English speaker with a bachelor's degree (or higher) who is flexible, culturally sensitive, and motivated to go the extra mile to provide a positive experience for students.

We would also prefer applicants who have previously spent some time studying or working in Japan, and as many ALT positions do require driving, we prefer people who can or would be able to drive in Japan.

ALTs work in public schools assisting Japanese teachers, helping to provide enjoyable and energetic lessons, and interacting with the students both inside and outside the classroom. Working as an ALT is a great opportunity to improve your Japanese language ability through cooperation with Japanese staff, to experience and appreciate cultural differences, and most importantly, to be positively involved with the development and well-being of young children.

ALTIA CENTRAL enjoys an excellent reputation, positive relationships with Boards of Education, and is respected by the English teaching community in Japan. We operate mostly in the Chubu area, especially Aichi, Gifu, Mie, and Shizuoka prefectures, areas further west such as Shiga, Okayama, and Hiroshima, along with a number of contracts in the Kansai area as well.
