Description

ALTIA CENTRAL is accepting applications to join our team of fantastic ALTs for a new opening in elementary schools and kindergartens in Makinohara, Shizuoka Prefecture, from September 2018. If you would like to work in a public school with one of the most reputable and successful companies in the ALT industry, then please apply now.

Makinohara lies on the southern coast of Shizuoka and is a great area with mild climates, famous for beaches, surfing, and green tea. Although within the prefecture of Mt. Fuji, here you will also be surrounded by beautiful ocean views and rolling green tea fields. The city is an hour or so to Shizuoka City, the biggest nearby urban center with lots of big-city things to do. We have nearby positions in Shimada city, and a number of contracts further east in the prefecture, as well.

ALTIA CENTRAL will be conducting weekday interviews on an ongoing basis at our head office in Nagoya and our Kansai office in Osaka to fill this and other positions from April so we are looking for as many great applicants as possible. We also interview on weekends in locations such as Hiroshima, Okayama, Tokyo and Shizuoka, on a regular basis.

Our ideal applicant is a native English speaker with a bachelor's degree (or higher) who is flexible, culturally sensitive, and motivated to go the extra mile to provide a positive experience for students.

We would also prefer applicants who have previously spent some time studying or working in Japan, and as many ALT positions do require driving, we prefer people who can or would be able to drive in Japan.

ALTs work in public schools assisting Japanese teachers, helping to provide enjoyable and energetic lessons, and interacting with the students both inside and outside the classroom. Working as an ALT is a great opportunity to improve your Japanese language ability through cooperation with Japanese staff, to experience and appreciate cultural differences, and most importantly, to be positively involved with the development and well-being of young children.

ALTIA CENTRAL enjoys an excellent reputation, positive relationships with Boards of Education, and is respected by the English teaching community in Japan. We operate mostly in the Chubu area, especially Aichi, Gifu, Mie, and Shizuoka prefectures, areas further west such as Shiga, Okayama, and Hiroshima, along with a number of contracts in the Kansai area as well.

Our highly experienced native-English speaking supervisors offer a stable, reliable and extremely professional support system. We also provide excellent teacher training, a wide array of top-quality educational resources and a comprehensive benefits package including generously paid vacation periods.

If you are interested in applying and have the work ethic and enthusiasm to represent our values while making a real difference in Japan's public schools, please visit our Recruiting website for further details about ALTIA CENTRAL. Please note that successful applicants will need to be available for a full 4-day Orientation/Training session from August 20th before starting in school from September 1st, 2018.
