Description

ALTIA CENTRAL is once again accepting applications from overseas candidates to join our team of fantastic ALTs from September, 2018 and beyond. If you would like to live and work in Japan, or make a return to Japan and work with one of the most reputable and successful companies in the ALT industry, then please apply now.

We will be conducting 1-on-1, weekend interviews in Tampa, Florida on May 26th, with additional weekend dates set for June 9th and June 23rd.

We typically set up overseas interviews in Los Angeles, Seattle, Chicago, Charlotte, Tampa and London, England each year, and have added New York, Austin, and Cincinnati to our list of US locations this Spring, and Brisbane, Australia as well. Furthermore, this May our recruiting manager will be once again traveling to the USA and is able to meet candidates in Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania and New York on his travels.

Our ideal applicant is a native English speaker with a bachelor's degree (or higher) who is flexible, culturally sensitive, and motivated to go the extra mile to provide a positive experience for students.

We would also prefer applicants who have previously spent some time studying or working in Japan, and as many ALT positions do require driving, we prefer people who can or would be able to drive in Japan.

ALTs work in public schools assisting Japanese teachers, helping to provide enjoyable and energetic lessons, and interacting with the students both inside and outside the classroom. Working as an ALT is a great opportunity to improve your Japanese language ability through cooperation with Japanese staff, to experience and appreciate cultural differences, and most importantly, to be positively involved with the development and well-being of young children.

ALTIA CENTRAL enjoys an excellent reputation, positive relationships with Boards of Education, and is respected by the English teaching community in Japan. We operate mostly in the Chubu area, especially Aichi, Gifu, Mie, and Shizuoka prefectures, areas further west such as Shiga, Okayama, and Hiroshima, along with a number of contracts in the Kansai area as well.

Our highly experienced native-English speaking supervisors offer a stable, reliable and extremely professional support system. We also provide excellent teacher training, a wide array of top-quality educational resources and a comprehensive benefits package including generously paid vacation periods.

Successful applicants will need to be available for a full 4-day Orientation/Training session in late August before starting in school from September 1st, 2018. If you are interested in applying and have the work ethic and enthusiasm to represent our values while making a real difference in Japan's public schools, please visit our Recruiting website for further details about ALTIA CENTRAL.

*Note: Please understand that only applicants considered for interview will be contacted. We do not have any positions in or near the greater Tokyo area.
