Description: Sakura International School is currently seeking experienced teachers for the current academic year or for the 2016-2017 academic year for our 3 campuses in Tokyo: Bunkyo, Chiyoda and Azabu. We offer English - Japanese bilingual education to children living in Japan. This position is competitive in terms of salary, benefits and conditions. Successful candidates will be flexible, enthusiastic and love the challenge of working with children.
Sakura International School is part of Kansai International Academy group. Our Kobe campus has an elementary school and is an IB World School offering the Primary Years Programme. It is the only school in the world offering the PYP in Japanese.
We are not an English conversation school. We teach IN English rather than teach English so applicants must be aware of the challenges associated with holistic education as opposed to language instruction and be proactive about their own professional development. We welcome well qualified, highly motivated and committed teachers to apply for a rewarding career opportunity.
Currently, we are seeking teachers particularly for the following position:

Applicants must have experience caring for and teaching young children. A qualification in early childhood care or a degree or graduate diploma in education is strongly preferred. For some positions, we offer an earlier starting date followed by some initial training.
Since our academic year has already started, successful applicants may start as a trainee/substitute teacher taking on the classroom teaching position at a later year. Some classroom teaching positions are currently open in Tokyo.

Due to the large number of applications we get, we will only contact applicants deemed suitable for an interview. Make sure your cover letter is addressed specifically to Sakura International School and includes why you would like to work at our school and how you think your skills and experience could add to our academic environment. This is not an entry-level job and positions are extremely competitive. Having numerous years of ESL teaching experience or being multicultural will not be enough to warrant an interview.
