MY English School is expanding and looking for an English conversation instructor in Sakata, Yamagata Prefecture beginning in September. (Training period to begin as early in August as possible for successful candidate.)

Work days:
Tuesday-Saturday

Duties:
You will teach English conversation to students of all ages, cooperate with other teachers and staff, actively participate in and seek out professional development opportunities, help at school events, and be a contributing member of a very professional group of teachers with high standards for education.

We offer:
1) 270,000 yen monthly compensation for those with adequate, internationally-accredited qualifications (260,000 per month until such qualifications can be obtained)

Applicant requirements:
1) Conversational Japanese ability
2) Valid work visa
3) Valid driving license or international driving permit (a car is necessary)
4) Ability to move to Yamagata
5) Willingness to study for and obtain an approved TEFL certificate within the first year of employment (for those not already holding one)
6) Professional attitude and demeanor
7) Love working with children, but able to teach all age groups

Applicant preferences:
1) TEFL, TESOL, CELTA, or certified teacher qualifications
2) Experience living in rural Japan
3) Minimum two years experience teaching in Japan
