The Executive Director is responsible for managing the ANZCCJ Secretariat, including planning, development, initiation and implementation of policy, programmes, administration and operations (personnel, finance, office administration, procedures, etc.) related to all activities of the Chamber and initiatives identified at the Strategic Planning Meeting.
The Executive Director is responsible for the development of new membership subscription revenue and advertising revenue, together with an expectation to promote the activities and advocacy of the Chamber.

5. An understanding of the Japanese market and of Australian /New Zealand business environment

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Executive Council
• Manage the Executive Council secretariat
• Maintain close communication & cooperation with Executive Council members
Newsletter and Publications
• Procure content and advertising for a range of Chamber publications
Membership
• Increase membership by packaging and promoting membership benefits
• Engage with members for active involvement
• Ensure suitable communication vehicles and communications are deployed to members
Events
• Organise and run chamber events ensuring the needs of the members are met in both content and quality of delivery
Sub-Committees
• Support the function of the subcommittees with events and necessary introductions
Website
• Responsibility for the administration of the website, ensuring that all updates and administration are conducted in a timely manner, including liaison with the website developer
Accounting and finances
• Maintain the Chamber’s finances via the most appropriate and secure avenues available
• Manage accounts payable and receivable including the payment of all bills
• Maintain the Chambers financial accounts on a monthly basis
• Preparation of a draft annual budget
PR and Promotion
• Develop PR and promotional materials (membership kit, welcome kit)
• Marketing of the Chamber to the business community
Strategic Alliances
• Regular liaison with Australian & NZ embassies & state government officials
• Seek to establish mutually beneficially relationships with other relevant bodies
Trade Policy Support
• Advocacy support and promotion
Human Resources
• Support the Executive Council in recruiting office staff
• Manage and direct the staff of the ANZCCJ
• Provide on the job training, ongoing feedback and support to Secretariat staff
ANZCCJ Business Centre
• Manage all aspects of the Business Centre including contracts & invoicing
General Operations
• Strategic planning for the future growth of the Chamber
• Development and improvement of organisational systems
REPORTING LINES/ KEY WORKING RELATIONSHIPS
• Reports directly to the Chair, ANZCCJ
• Communicates on a regular basis with Executive Council members, ANZCCJ
• Delegation: Secretariat staff (manage and direct the staff of the ANZCCJ)
