Description

Description: Established in September 2011, Global Institute (GI) runs Tokyo International School Afterschool (TISAS) and Tokyo International School Kindergarten (TISKG) in Tokyo. In July 2014, we opened a new franchise campus in Sapporo with a company called Renseikai.

Renseikai runs a TISAS program at the new Maruyama campus. Students in that program are required to attend between 3 and 5 days per week making for an immersion environment. However, there are a number of students who are unable to attend multiple times per week and so the Maruyama campus also offers a program called the Learning Through English (LTE) program. The LTE program is broken into 2 sections: LTE Kids is for kindergarten children and has 4 levels, and LTE Junior is for elementary students and has 6 levels. Classes are either 90 minutes or 110 minutes in length during the week and 180 minutes in length on Saturday. Students are assigned to classes based on their age. Although we do have some mixed classes the maximum age difference in any one class is 1 year.

We are currently looking to hire one Teacher for the LTE program.

POSITION DETAILS: The work week is Tuesday to Saturday. Holiday for this position are Sunday and Monday, public holidays, five days flexible paid leave, one week during summer, and two weeks in winter. The daily work schedule is 11:00am to 20:00pm during the week and 9:00am to 18:00pm on Saturday.

IDEAL CANDIDATE: We are looking for a confident, dedicated, and passionate teacher. Candidates must have a university degree and two years experience (ideally working with elementary students in Japan).

LOCATION: The school is located near Nishi 18 Chome station on the Tozai line.

START DATE: The start date is March 20th 2015.

COMPENSATION: The wage will be 270,000 per month. Participation in the Social Insurance and Pension is required (company contributions are made on top of the stated wage level with teacher contributions being deducted from the wage). Transportation is reimbursed up to 20,000 per month.

RECRUITMENT PROCESS: Renseikai will screen resumes to check that minimum requirements are met. Candidates will be contacted to arrange face-to-face interviews for teachers who are able to come to our Maruyama campus, or Skype web-interviews for those who can’t. Candidates will be asked to bring with them their residence cards, passports, copies of qualifications and letters of reference. Following the first round of interviews candidates will be short-listed for a second round of interviews, which will include a trial lesson. These second round interviews will be conducted with GI and Renseikai, and Renseikai will make the final decision. Once that final decision has been made, Renseikai will contact all candidates to inform them of the decision. The successful candidate will meet with Renseikai to sign employment documentation.

We look forward to receiving your application.
