描述

Borderlink is currently seeking Assistant Language Teachers (ALTs) for elementary and junior high schools in Arakawa Ward, Tokyo. These positions will start from May 2019 and located in an easily-accessible urban area in northeast Tokyo.

>>Positions Details<<

Junior high-level positions in Arakawa are full-time, offering consistency and a 5-day work week. The salary range is 215,000 yen~235,000 yen (monthly rate). Enrollment in social insurance comes with these positions.

Elementary-level school positions are part-time, and allow for a lighter schedule with increased flexibility. The salary range is 12,000 yen~13,500 yen (daily rate).

At all positions, ALTs will be provided a yearly calendar to help manage their other commitments.

>>About ALT Work<<

As an ALT, you would be responsible for co-teaching with Japanese teachers, making activities and materials to facilitate English language instruction. You will also make the language "real" by interacting with students throughout the day to help them actively apply what they learn in class. The ideal candidate is flexible with their teaching style and wants to make a positive impact on the lives of the students.

>>About Arakawa Ward<<

One of the 23 Special Wards, Arakawa offers urban convenience while also being one of the quieter neighborhoods in Tokyo. Access from nearby stations such as Ueno and Ikebukuro is fast and easy, making it a great place to live or commute to. There's also plenty to see and do on weekends, from the Arakawa Yuen amusement park to the Arakawa Nature park, as well as numerous temples, shrines, museums, and annual festivals.

Being an ALT in Arakawa is a commitment with sometimes long hours, but also allows teachers to become more active in the community and a greater 'part' of the school. The area's unique approach to English education means ALTs are highly valued, and at both school levels work as T2, supporting the main teacher.

>>About Borderlink<<

Borderlink is well-known and respected among schools and boards of education. We provide initial training and after-placement support unparalleled among ALT companies, including relocation assistance and visa sponsorship where applicable. At Borderlink, there's always room for growth, both as individuals and as a team.

If this sounds like the opportunity you've been waiting for, we're waiting to hear from you and are accepting applications today! We conduct Skype interviews regularly throughout the week, and welcome applicants from all over Japan. Please note that these positions go fast, so apply soon! Thank you for reading!

***Successful applicants must be native English speakers, living in Japan on a visa permitting part-time / full-time work.

***Only applicants who pass initial screening will be contacted about setting up an interview.
