We are looking for candidates who can meet the following criteria:

2) Experience planning and teaching original lessons
3) University degree in linguistics, language teaching, or a foreign language
4) English teaching qualification
5) N3 or higher ability in Japanese (if you don’t speak Japanese, you can list other languages that you have learned)

It is not necessary to meet all of the above criteria, but the more of them that you meet, the better your chances will be.

If you are interested in the position, please write us a personalized cover letter explaining which of the above criteria you meet as well as any other factors that you think would make you a good candidate for this position.

Also, please answer the following question:

Imagine that you have been asked to do a lesson demonstrating the difference between simple present and present progressive. The students are in the first year of junior high school and have only been studying English for approximately two months. How would you demonstrate the difference in meaning between the two tenses without translating or using grammatical terminology? What topic would you discuss? What visual or other aids would you use? Your goal is to demonstrate the difference in meaning without students feeling like they are getting a grammar lecture.

Only candidates who pass this initial screening will be invited to come for an interview and demo lesson.

Thank you for your application.
