We're hiring an instructor to teach classes and private lessons in our laboratory, as well as to help with curriculum development and inventory management.

What you will be doing:
-Teaching students (ages 7-17) in our laboratory at our Nishiazabu learning center
-Mentoring high school students through biology research projects
-Working alongside the director of research to develop engaging science curricula for elementary and middle school students that are aligned with international standards (e.g. NGSS)
-Managing laboratory inventory, including ordering supplies, creating invoices, and communicating with local suppliers
Basic requirements:
-Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in biology or a related field
-Experience working or conducting research in a laboratory setting (excluding college coursework)
-1+ years of relevant teaching experience
-Proficient with Microsoft Excel and G Suite
Preferred qualifications:
-Master’s degree or higher in biology or a related field
-Academic publications
-1+ years of laboratory teaching experience
-Experience with laboratory inventory management
-Experience with curriculum development
-Currently working in Japan
Compensation for teaching hours starts at 4,500 JPY/hour and increases to 6,000 JPY/hour for highly qualified candidates. Curriculum development and inventory management hours are compensated at 2,000 JPY/hour. Hour are flexible and start at 15 hours/week.
