Description

Sendai Ikuei Gakuen High School is an International Baccalaureate World School. The school is currently seeking a qualified and professional High school Mathematics teacher for a full-time contract position in the school's IB Diploma Programme.


The school will provide professional development.
The teaching of additional non IB classes (Mathematics immersion classes / English oral communication) may also be included in the teaching workload.
Average teaching load will be approximately 20 teaching blocks (out of a 35 block schedule) per week.

Additional Details:

Position to start April 2022.
Work week : Monday to Friday, Some Saturday mornings required
Hours: Weekdays 8:30-17:15 / Saturday 8:30-12:30
Leave: 20 days paid leaver per year, all National holidays recognized
Sunday and Public holiday work required a limited number of times throughout the year (school events etc)
Health Insurance (private school system)

Key tasks
Prepare and deliver effective and appropriate units and lessons in accordance with IB standards and requirements;
Differentiate lesson material to meet a variety of student's needs and learning styles.;
Use a variety of learning methods that encourage student discussion and collaboration;
Monitor, record and assess student progress;
Abide by IB assessment criteria as outlined in Subject Guides

Candidates should be willing to contribute to the school's culture of learning, participate in in-school professional development opportunities, practice punctuality, join school social events with enthusiasm, avail time to support students outside of lesson times; and should have a good and healthy sense of humor.
