Description

Stationed Business English Instructor for Corporate Program in Shizuoka, Tochigi, and Tokyo area.

Berkeley House Language Center is seeking an experienced English instructor for an up-coming corporate teaching position in multiple area.

Contract period: Six months or One year (starting in January/April 2019)
Location: Shizuoka, Tochigi, and Tokyo area
Working days: Monday - Friday, between 9:00-18:00
Teaching hours: 55 min class * 5 - 6 lessons a day (22-28 contact hours)
Students : Corporate office workers/engineers (motivated to learn as they need English in their jobs)
Class format: Combination of one-to-one, semi-private, and group lessons.
Remuneration: 250,000 yen/month (*Transportation expenses will be reimbursed.)
Accommodation: Teachers pay for their own accommodation, but we can offer support in finding a LeoPalace. Average cost is around 80,000 yen / month (including utilities).
Benefits: This position is eligible to enroll in Social insurance system such as health insurance, employment insurance, and pension system.

Qualification Requirements
-3+ years teaching adult language learners English, preferably Business English in Japan to a wide variety of proficiency levels
-University graduate with TEFL/CELTA/TESOL certification
-Native speaker of English with knowledge of grammar
-Flexible! This is a new position that will be utilizing a computer based attendance and feedback system. Candidates should be comfortable with computers and open to using one for administrative tasks.

Job Description (in addition to teaching and lesson preparation)
-Writing reports, participating in meetings, submitting student attendance via computer, etc.
-Office work and teaching other short-term classes during corporate student breaks (around 4x/year)
-Unpaid company orientation and training session before placement (around 15 hours depending on teacher's background).
-Periodic workshops with other instructors/trainers: this would be a good chance for those who would like to improve their teaching skills for further development as instructor.
