2023 Full Time Art & English Instructor for SHS in Midori-ward, Saitama（期限切れ）

Exciting News!
A private senior high school in Midori-ward, Saitama is looking for an Art / English teacher for the next academic year, 2023.
The school is set to become an IB school starting in 2024 and they are looking for a teacher who can teach English for 2023 and then Art and English in 2024 using the IB curriculum.
Not having any IB background is not an issue; however, if selected the teacher is required to enroll in a month-long online IB course this summer in August (4~5 hours per week). Enrollment costs should be covered by the school.


Location:
a 20-minute bus ride from Higashi Kawaguchi Station
a 30-minute bus ride from Omiya Station

Contract Start Period:
April 2023~

Contract Type:
Direct hire

Salary:
The position will be a direct hire so the salary has not been disclosed but usually specialized skill direct-hire salary can expect in the range of 270,000~350,000JPY/month. (Negotiable depending on qualification and experience.)

Work Days:
Mondays ~ Fridays
*May be required to attend special events during weekends and holidays

Lesson Numbers:
2023
-Teach English up to 18 lessons per week
-Mainly 1st-year students
-Max. 40 students per class
-Team teaching

2024 ～
- Teach IB English and IB Art up to 15 lessons per week
- Team teaching for the first 2 semesters then start solo teaching for art lessons during the final semester
- Art classes should be Max.20 students per Class

Requirements:

1. Experience teaching at private SHS in Japan
2. Native speaker of English
3. University degree in Art or related field preferred
4. TEFL/TESOL/CELTA/Teaching license preferred
5. Knowledge and experience teaching IB curricula preferred
6. Team worker
7. Friendly/cheerful personality

Selection Process and Schedule:
The school will conduct own selection process：
-Initial screening
-2~3 interviews (may be required to demonstrate a lesson)
-Selection will begin immediately and the final selection will be made by mid-July.
