Description

Hampton School of English is currently seeking an experienced and enthusiastic EFL teacher with CELTA (or higher) and/or PGCE (or equivalent) qualifications. The candidate must also hold an undergraduate degree.

This position consists of 3 days a week teaching in-house at our school in Shibuya and 2 days working as an ALT at a private junior/senior high school in Setagaya. The working week will run from Tuesday-Saturday, with availability on Saturdays being essential.

The vast majority of our in-house classes are one to one, with occasional small group lessons of no more than two students at a time. Our students prefer to come to our school in central Tokyo, located within walking distance of Shibuya and Omotesando stations, however we also deliver online lessons to students in other parts of Japan and abroad, so knowledge and experience of online teaching is preferred.

At Hampton School of English you will be required to teach a wide range of learners - from elementary school children to retired people, with a variety of learning goals and English levels. Therefore, we require our teachers to be able to create study programmes with a high degree of personalisation. We are especially interested in teachers who have experienced teaching exam courses, such as IELTS and Cambridge Exams (FCE, CAE, etc.). As a ‘British’ English specialist school, preference will be given to British English native speakers.

We also have part-time positions available. If you are interested in working 2 or 3 days a week, please state this in your cover letter.

We offer competitive pay, holiday allowance and visa sponsorship. Candidates must already be living in Japan and be available for an in-house interview if requested.

Only candidates with the required experience will be contacted.
