Our client, a market leader within Material Handling and Process Automation, are heavily recruiting within Japan due to a number of contract wins within the Automated Warehousing sector.

A truly global organisation with massive presence across Europe, Americas and APAC, they focus on the design, build, installation and maintenance of industrial machinery within 3 key areas; Warehousing, Parcel and Baggage Handling.


Role
We are actively recruiting a Mechanical Project Engineer who will be responsible for the complete design and implementation of mechanical industrial solutions for material handling systems. You will perform design specifications, commissioning and testing of material handling systems.


Further, you’ll be responsible for the following tasks:
• Participate in system design (steelwork, accessibility, structural interfaces, architectural)
• Design layouts and Mechanical drawings
• Participate in detailed design
• Coordinate steelwork design
• Integrate design rules for safety
• Planning, reporting and leading a team
• Managing budgets
• Support site based activity (installation, commissioning, testing, trouble shooting, materials)


Your profile
• Mechanical Qualification – ideally degree level
• 5+ years of mechanical engineering in industrial automation / Material Handling systems
• Experience in mechanical installations
• Experience in steelwork design
• Able to read drawings of existing industrial automation systems
• Experience with 3D modelling
• Able to work and communicate in a multidisciplinary project team
• A team playing and self-driven personality, eager to learn.
• English and Japanese communication


Additional Information
This position will require initial international travel to Europe for a period of up to 6 months. This is to ensure you have the opportunity to learn all the clients products, work on live project environments and complete an in-depth induction period before returning to Japan (Tokyo).
