Description

Unison World English Nursery School is an international school located near Sendai station (10 minutes on foot) which allows for perfect access to anywhere in Sendai, the largest city in Northeast Japan (Tohoku in Japanese). Our nursery and after-school program provide an environment of full English immersion for children between the ages of 1 and 10-years-old. Our vision is to nurture the next generation of global leaders. To achieve that, we aim to provide a fun and encouraging environment for children to ensure that they develop the skills and abilities to be open, caring, and international learners. We are looking for native English homeroom teachers who can start immediately to bring a more unique dynamic to our team.

We are looking for a teacher who:
-Has teaching experience with young children (2-5 years old)
-is acclimated/accustomed to a preschool environment
-is flexible to changes and new challenges
-is a team player and works well with others
-is open-minded, outgoing, and motivated
-is well-organized and has a professional manner
-can plan, develop, and implement curriculum for students aged mainly from 1 to 10 years old

[Qualifications & Requirements]
-Educational Background:
Bachelor’s degree in Education/ Early Childhood Education/ Nursery/ Elementary Education (Strongly preferred)
-Preferably received final education in North America (U.S. & Canada)
-Other skill sets that are beneficial to teaching young children (e.g., musical instruments, dance, art, sports…etc.) is a plus
-Japanese language skills: Preferred, but not required
-Currently residing in Japan (Advantageous)
-While not required, we give preference to applicants living in Japan already

[Contract]
Full-time employee (1 year renewable contract)

[Working Hours]
Monday to Friday (hours vary based on shift), some Saturdays and school events.
Current Shifts: 8:00-17:00 / 8:30-17:30 / 9:00-18:00/ 9:30-18:30

[Salary & Benefit Package]
-¥230,000~¥270,000/ Month based on experience. All new teachers will have a 3-month probation period. Possible salary increases based on performance (twice a year evaluation).
-10 paid holidays after six months of employment (incremental based on years of employment), Golden week holiday, and New Year holiday.
-Visa sponsorship and visa procedure assistance
- Housing assistance to find apartment in area close to school (initial deposit is paid by school and rent is paid by teacher)

[How to Apply & Interview Method]
In person interview for applicants residing in Japan (exceptional Skype interviews for applicants who live in the western or southern area of Japan).
All or part of any travel expenses for an interview and demonstration lesson will be paid. All of the travel expenses (public transportation only) will be paid for applicants who live in Miyagi. For applicants who live outside of Miyagi, we subsidize part of the expenses assessed according to the distance from the applicant’s current location to our school.
