Description

Unison World English Nursery School is an international school located right in front of Sendai station (10 minutes on foot) which has perfect access to anywhere in Sendai, the largest city in Northeast Japan (Tohoku in Japanese). We provide an English immersion environment to our nursery and after-school programs for children age mainly from 1-10. Our vision is to nurture next generation global leaders. To achieve that we aim to provide a fun and encouraging environment for children to ensure that they develop skills and abilities to be open, caring, and international. We are looking for one native English homeroom teacher for our 3 year old class who can start from mid-March/ April 2019 to bring in more dynamics to our team.

We are looking for a teacher who:
-has teaching experience with young children (in a preschool or daycare setting)
-is accommodated to a preschool environment
-is flexible to changes and new challenges
-is a team player and works well with others
-is open-minded, outgoing, and motivated
-is well-organized and have a professional manner
-can plan, develop and implement curriculum for students age mainly from 1-10
-is planning to build up a long term career in Japan

[Qualifications & Requirements]
-Educational Background:
Bachelor’s degree in Education/ Early Childhood Education/ Nursery/ Elementary Education (Strongly preferred)
-Preferably to received final education in North America (U.S. & Canada)
-Other skill sets that’s beneficial to teaching young children (e.g. musical instruments, dance, art, sports…etc.) is a plus
-Japanese language skills: Preferred, but not required
-Currently residing in Japan (Advantageous)

[Contract]
Full-time employee (1 year contract for the first year and renewable onward)

[Working Hours]
Monday to Friday (hours vary based on shift), some Saturdays and school events.
Current Shifts: 8:00-17:00 / 8:30-17:30 / 9:00-18:00/ 9:30-18:30

[Salary & Benefit Package]
-¥240,000~¥270,000/ Month based on experience. All new teachers will have a 6-month probation period. Possible salary increases based on performance (twice a year evaluation).
-10 paid holidays after six months of employment (incremental based on years of employment), Golden week holiday, and New Year holiday.
-Visa sponsorship and visa procedure assistance
- Housing assistance to find apartment in area close to school with basic appliance (initial deposit is paid by school and rent is paid by teacher)

[How to Apply & Interview Method]
Interview in person for applicants residing in Japan (exceptional Skype interviews for applicants who live in the western or southern area of Japan).

All or part of the travel expenses for an interview and demonstration lesson will be paid. All of the travel expenses (public transportation only) will be paid for applicants who live in Miyagi. For applicants who live outside of Miyagi, we subsidize part of the expenses assessed according to the distance from the applicant’s home to our school.
