Requirements

Description

--- Position Mission Statement:

The mission of the Manager, Government Accounts (Japan) is to work collaboratively in support of the bid and proposal process.

Working closely with the Director of Business Development for Government Accounts in all phases of the business development process. From the identification and capture of sales prospects to the proposal, win, and execution of service. This position will also service state, local, federal and commercial customers who support defense weapons platforms and purchases through the Japanese government solicitation process. This position is the primary contact for clients in the Japanese Government and approved contractors and will handle their needs on routine, unscheduled and AOG events.


--- Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

・Act as the primary in-country technical contact, assisting the client and the operator with timely and accurate responses to technical, program, and financial questions.

・Coordinate with other JSSI’s technical, fleet and client services to assure accurate transmittal of information from client/operator to JSSI including the accurate and complete translation of technical reports from Japanese to English and vice versa.

・Coordinate scheduled inspections or major unscheduled events.

・Research logbooks and/or conduct visual inspections for new enrollments or existing contracts.

・Review and process invoices in AMS.

・Responsible for event triage, assessing and ensuring each situation is handled properly.

・Identify and review sources for opportunities to bid through identification and use of public and subscription-based search tools.

・Develop and cultivate professional business relationships with approved Japanese government contractors and government representatives while upholding the highest levels of professionalism and ethics.

・Collaborate and/or independently produce customer presentations and other tools and media used in the business development process.

・Participate in the bid and proposal process through the collaborative and/or independent review of customer-provided documentation as well as independent research of key facts and data beneficial and/or necessary for the production of a compliant proposal.

・Ensure compliance with Japan government laws, rules and regulations and administer records, documents and reference materials related to Japan government contracts and compliance.

・Maintain and foster inter-company relationships.

・Maintain appropriate government quotes and contracts files.

・Maintain availability and use formal government reference materials, specifications and standards, government publications.

・Handle routine client service issues relating to contract terms, payments, monthly reporting obligations, etc.

・Attend regional and national industry events to network with clients and represent the company.

・Other duties as assigned.


--- Desired Credentials:

・Bachelor’s Degree or international equivalent in aviation field (preferred)business, logistics or related field required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted in lieu of degree

・Candidates must have unrestricted work and residency authorization for Japan.

・Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English and Japanese is required.

・Proven track record of working with demanding clients, including providing dispute resolution and resolving complex problems.

・Technical understanding of aircraft maintenance, in particular engine maintenance.

・Discretion, good judgment, organizational and management ability, initiative, and the ability to work independently.

・Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft products, email and SalesForce.com

・Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong presentation skills

・Strong problem solving skills, analytical capabilities, and collaboration skills

・Exceptional attention to detail, a commitment to quality and be results driven and customer focused

・Ability to multi-task and work well under pressure

・Well organized

・Have or be able to obtain passport and perform international travel
