Quality site engineer required full-time based in Kanagawa, Japan to support supervision of PV site constructions along with engineering and design reviews of renewable energy projects. Qualified candidate should have 4 or more years’ experience in solar and other renewable energy projects, knowledge of JIS standards, experience working in Japan on one or more PV construction sites.
• The Quality Engineer (Q.E) shall be responsible to oversee and manage the project implementation in accordance with approved engineering design issued by the client.
• During implementation phase, the Q.E will act as the key coordinator between Developer, EPC Contractors and Project Site execution teams. Q.E shall prepare weekly progress report and submit a copy for records.
• Q.E will be responsible for providing the feedback to the developer on the quality aspects and practical consideration specific to the site on the proposed engineering solutions by the EPC team.
• Q.E is also responsible for managing variance and change requests during the implementation phase and provide support on engineering issues resolution through mutual discussions with EPC/ Developer.
• Q.E role includes, but not limited to, quality inspection of civil, mechanical construction, reviewing engineering /technical design, engineering documentation and quality assurance plans and their monitoring.
• Q.E may be assigned to multiple projects simultaneously depending on project status and project needs.
Job qualification:
• Bachelors’ degree in Civil/ Mechanical/ Renewable Energy Engineering or related degree
• Knowledge of JIS standards and Japan construction practices
• Prior commercial solar industry experience strongly preferred
• Familiarity with solar PV system construction
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
• Proficiency in MS Office- Excel, Word, power point
