Description

Do you want to live in Japan but are unsure of a smooth path to get set up and settled in the country?

Are you interested in getting your foot in the door in teaching English?

Or perhaps, are you teaching in Japan but looking to start the new school year in a metropolitan area? Are you teaching in a busy lifestyle but would prefer to live and work in a quieter suburb with cheaper lifestyle, but still with good city access?

If you find yourself being described by any one of these questions, we may be what you are seeking in a new job. We seek many candidates who live in, or would like to live in, the Greater Tokyo area (Kanto area), including Tokyo, Saitama, Chiba, Kanagawa, Tochigi, Ibaraki, Gunma, and even some positions in the foot of Mount Fuji! Please read on to find out if this position would be right for you.

Heart Corporation is continuously looking for Assistant Language Teachers (ALTs) who wish to enrich the lives of elementary and junior high school students. The next school year will start in April 2018, and we are looking for teachers to join us in positions. We will be needing to fill literally hundreds of openings, and look forward to hearing from anyone interested in teaching with us!

While the school year starts in April, there is also a chance to be considered for a position starting at any time of the year should the need arise. Even if you are looking to work immediately or cannot be available until after April, we look forward to your application!

The main duties of an ALT are to provide fun and effective English lessons and to internationalize Japanese youth. It is important for ALTs to help bridge this gap by giving students first-hand knowledge and experience of different cultures. Although teaching is an important part of the job, essentially teachers play and have fun with students and get paid for it! Some ALTs do different sports with the students or join clubs and after-school programs.

Most positions are 5 days a week (Monday through Friday), but some lighter part-time positions are also available. Conditions regarding specific hours and salary depend on each city and its requirements. Applicants are requested to apply with the intention of working at least to the end of the school year.

Basic Requirements:
- Native-level English
- Hold or soon be able to graduate with a BA/BS degree from a university (or equivalent).
- Basic Japanese speaking ability (or a desire to learn)
- Some teaching experience or experience working with children preferred
- Holding a driving license (of your own country) preferred
- Desire and ability to live and work in a foreign country and ability to be independent

Benefits:
-Visa sponsorship.
-No limit on contract renewals.
-Company accommodations can be arranged for most locations outside of the Tokyo metro area.
-If driving is required, we can assist in making available a company car for rent.
-Assistance before starting, and then while working at schools. Constant support from our HR staff and company coordinators, who can help with any issues between teachers and schools.
-Opportunity for promotion.

Please contact us as soon as possible to start your path to a rewarding experience. Those who pass the initial screening will be contacted to complete our application process. We look forward to hearing from you!
