Description

Position Vacancy: Accounting Supervisor

The Employees Welfare Association (EWA) of the U.S. Embassy Tokyo is seeking an individual for the position of Accounting Supervisor located at the U.S. Embassy Housing Compound in Akasaka Ward, Tokyo.

BASIC FUNCTIONS OF POSITION:
The EWA is a private association of employees of the U.S. Embassy Tokyo. Incumbent will assist the Accounting Manager with all aspects of the accounting office to include, but not limited to, financial control/functions, book keeping, operation procedures, count and verify receivables, maintain records, create/issue/control invoices, and collections.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
1. Education: Completion of Secondary School required. College/University degree desired.
2. Prior Work Experience: 3 years’ work experience in accounting, data collection/input, book keeping, or payroll computation desired. Education may be considered as substitute for experience at a lower pay scale.
3. Language Proficiency: Must have a clear understanding and ability to read, and write both English and Japanese
4. Knowledge:
a. Good working knowledge of accounting practices preferred
b. Good working knowledge of book keeping preferred
5. Skills: Accurate counting and data entry a must. Good working knowledge and application of Microsoft Office with special emphasis on Excel. Excellent customer service skills.
