Description

We are seeking full-time native English speaking kindergarten teachers for a position starting Summer 2017.

Sunnyside International Yashio Kindergarten provides an English and Japanese bilingual environment to children from 3 to 6 years old.

Native English speakers work as Classroom Teachers in partnership with a Japanese teacher, so candidates must have a strong commitment to working closely with another teacher.

Teachers are also required to teach after school classes to graduate students of ages 7-12; therefore applicants with experience in teaching elementary aged students will be highly regarded.

Working at our kindergarten is a deeply rewarding experience, but it also requires a higher level of maturity and commitment than many other English teaching jobs in Japan. Sunnyside teachers must have a high level of creativity, flexibility, and enthusiasm.

Applicants should be willing to commit to a full-time contract until the end of March 2018. The contract is renewable upon mutual agreement with the employer.

Applicants must have at least 1 year of experience working with young children; TESOL and home country teaching credentials are highly desirable. Visa sponsorship is available to those holding a bachelor’s degree.

The job offers generous paid holidays (one month summer vacation, two weeks winter vacation, and one week spring vacation as well as national holidays) and a salary of ¥270,000 with an apartment subsidy, a performance-based completion bonus and paid transportation. Subsidized, furnished apartments will be made available for new teachers. Furthermore, employees will be enrolled in a social health insurance and pension scheme at reduced cost.

If you are interested in the position, please send us your resume, cover letter stating why you are interested in this position, and a recent photo.

Only applicants who meet these requirements will be contacted. Also, please note that we will be unavailable to respond to applicants between the dates of May 3rd to May 7th due to the Japanese national holiday.
