Description

Our company is looking for a motivated English instructor. We have two Nova English conversation schools in Gunma Prefecture and one in Tokyo. Both branches in Gunma are approximately 80 kilometers northwest of Tokyo. The position entails teaching 40 minute lessons to small groups of mainly adult students.

The daily lesson schedule is relatively fixed and can be acclimated to quickly. While there are different textbooks for each level, all of the lessons follow the same general format, allowing the instructor to rapidly construct flexible yet effective lesson plans. There are occasional conversation lessons called “Voice” that require some creative input from the instructor. There are weekly Nova Junior lessons for younger learners but they are not as frequent compared to the regular adult lessons. Moreover, to provide familiarity and routine, Nova Junior lessons are fairly standardized, using set textbooks, CDs and an extensive bank of flash cards, along with instructor prompting and modeling. Lessons are conducted in English so no Japanese proficiency is necessary.

We are currently seeking a full-time instructor for our branch in Ota or Takasaki or Nakano. All of schools are located close to Ota/Takasaki/Nakano station and normally have two teachers. This is a full time contracted position of 40 hours per week.

Job benefits include:
-Paid Obon and New Year's holidays plus 10 days discretionary paid holidays in the first year (available after 6 months employment)
-Travel costs to and from work.
-English-speaking staff.
-Paid training, with travel and hotel costs covered.
-Curriculum and lesson plans provided.
-Visa sponsorship.
-Accommodation available if needed.
-Permanent ("seishain") positions available upon mutual agreement.
-Teaching motivated, interesting students of all ages.
