Description

Beacon Hill English School is currently accepting applications for a Native English Instructor. We teach kids from as young as 2 years old up to adults. Basic Requirements
• English: Native level
• Japanese: Basic - Conversational
• Must currently reside in Japan
• Proper visa
• Must provide own health insurance (国民保険)

Skills that we are looking for in our new teacher
• Enjoy diversity in teaching both children and adults of varying abilities.
• Ability to follow our children’s curriculum while creating lessons tailored to best help a diverse range of students and classes; phonics, sight-words, reading and writing are skills we incorporate into our children’s classes. We have a great program, good materials, and continued support and job training.
• Ability to work independently.

Job Description

Candidate will be required to:
• Plan original lessons customized to the needs of each of your classes, according to our curriculum.
• Conduct lessons that are both entertaining and informative each week
• Take a genuine interest in the development of our students over the course of the school year
• Participate in the planning and execution of seasonal events such as Halloween, Christmas, and Summer Festivals

• Successful candidates are generally given at least one month of training. Training is a combination of classroom work learning about the concepts behind creating quality lessons, and getting hands on experience.

• After training you will be assigned to work at either both schools, or the Awano school, where you will continue to teach the same group of classes weekly.

• Starting teachers will be paid 10,000-15,000 yen per day depending on how many hours worked. After a 3 month probationary period, you will take on a full time schedule and be paid based on your qualifications.

Initial Part Time stage starts March/April 2017

• Working schedule varies, but will be needed some Saturdays in March and early April.
• Teacher will be taught and help teach at both locations throughout the week, though the main bulk will be at the Kakamigahara school.
• Teaching all ages and English levels from toddlers to adults. .

Full Time stage starts May/June 2017

• Working schedule is 40 hours, 5 days a week, from Monday to Friday. There is a combination of early starts and afternoon starts. 25 lessons a week at most.
• 1 year renewable contract
