Description

ALTIA CENTRAL is now accepting applications to join our team of fantastic ALTs in a sudden opening in Hatsukaichi City, Hiroshima Prefecture. We are looking for a great person to fill this mixed junior high and elementary school position in the beautiful Miyajima area of Hatsukaichi.

Hatsukaichi City itself has a population of only about 100,000 people, but as it extends directly out from Hiroshima City it is really part of the greater Hiroshima City metropolitan area. This particular position has the extra benefit of teaching right on beautiful Miyajima island, just minutes from the world-famous Itsukushima shrine.

ALTIA CENTRAL conducts weekday interviews on an ongoing basis at our office in Nagoya City and will also travel down to Hiroshima this month as we are looking forward to meeting as many qualified applicants as possible for this opening. We also regularly interview both during the week and on weekends at our Kansai office in Osaka as well.

Our company, ALTIA CENTRAL, enjoys an excellent reputation and is a highly respected company both with Boards of Education and amongst the English teaching community in Japan. We operate mostly in the Chubu area, especially Aichi, Gifu, Mie, and Shizuoka prefectures, areas further west such as Shiga, Okayama, and Hiroshima, along with several contracts in the Kansai area as well.

We offer a stable, reliable and extremely professional support system and our ALTs enjoy a comprehensive benefits package including generously paid vacation periods. We also provide excellent teacher training, an amazing array of educational resources and other benefits. Please visit our recruiting website for further details about our organization.

ALTs work in public schools assisting the Japanese teachers, and helping to provide a positive and energetic experience through English for the students. It’s a great chance to learn and use the Japanese language on a daily basis, to experience and appreciate cultural differences, and most importantly to be positively involved with the development of young children. If you have the desire to accept this type of responsibility, please contact ALTIA CENTRAL.

Successful applicants should be available for a full 4-day Orientation/Training session in late September before starting in school on or around October 1st, 2015.

You must be flexible, enjoy working with young children, and be motivated to go the extra mile to provide a positive experience for their students. A strong desire to live and work in Japan, good Japanese language skills, and teaching experience with young learners is also highly recommended. A minimum BA/BS degree is required, and a degree in a relevant field such as Japanese, Japanese History, East Asian Studies, Linguistics and the like are particularly useful though not absolutely necessary.

*Please understand that only applicants considered for interview will be contacted and that we do not have any positions in or near the greater Tokyo area.
