Let’s make children love English together! Starting this April (or May) 2020, you can be a start of something amazing as Assistant Language Teacher (ALT) in Shintomi Town, Miyazaki Prefecture!

About Shintomi Town:
Shintomi is a town located in a town located in Kyushu District, Miyazaki Prefecture. The town has an estimated population of 16,663 and was formed by the merger of 2 villages, Tonda and Nyuta. In Shintomi, all of the windows in the schools are double-paned to block noise from a nearby military base.

About the position:
The placement will be in elementary schools and junior high schools across Shintomi Town, Miyazaki Prefecture where the ALT will assist as a team teacher and help plan English lessons under a schedule created by GLAD and the Board of Education. As well as teaching English lessons, you may also be asked to participate in other school activities such as clubs, cleaning the school, and cultural festivals.

Contract term:
April (or May), 2020 – March 31st, 2021

Benefits
・Transportation costs will be covered at a certain rate per month (car and travel expenses included/Up to ¥15,000 per a month)
・Days off include weekends, national holidays, and other holidays set on the Board of Education's school calendar
・Rental car provided
・Relocation support if you'll move out to this city from other areas
・Ongoing and continuous support (training and advice)

Conditions
・Monthly base compensation: From ¥220,000 per month (It will be decided after some interviews)
・Working hours: Monday through Friday – 7 hours between 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM (1-hour break)
・Placement: Elementary schools and junior high schools throughout Shintomi Town

Qualification
・Excellent English Skill
・Experienced teaching English before
・Holder of a university Bachelor's degree (or higher)
・Holder of a valid visa status that allows work in Japan (visa sponsorship/renewal available)
・Holder of a Japanese driver's license or international driving permit in order to commute to schools
・Able to speak conversational Japanese: communication is crucial for planning and creating lessons with Japanese teachers of English. We also highly suggest that teachers be able to be involved with the communities here.
