Description

This is an exciting and challenging position that covers a wide range of responsibilities from organizing events for some of Australia and New Zealand’s largest companies here in Japan. You will also have the chance to work with the Australian and New Zealand Embassies who are key partners of the Chamber. You will get to oversee a range of business models, working with over 600 chamber members and sponsors. The office is located in the centre of Tokyo’s business district in Akasaka, dealing with a wide range of Chamber members. The required candidate will need to be truly international in dealing with stakeholders from Australia, New Zealand and Japan.

We are looking for an Operations Manager who has a demonstrated administrative ability, an interest in trade and business affairs, some contextual understanding of Australia and New Zealand business, experience with event planning and proven ability to work well in a bilingual work environment. You will be responsible for managing the administration of the Australia New Zealand Chamber of Commerce Secretariat, working closely with the Executive Director to oversee the day to day operations of the Chamber.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Support the Executive Director and Executive Council as required
• Respond to existing membership needs and requests
• Assist with the organisation of regular Chamber functions and meetings
• Invoicing and basic accounting support
• Manage the provision of information – regular emails to members; newsletter; website updates
• Recruitment of new members and initiatives in connection therewith
• Other general duties as required
• Manage the ANZCCJ phone line (during office hours only)

SKILLS

• 2-3 years relevant work experience
• Administrative skills (including computer literacy in Microsoft Office)
• Excellent command of English and Japanese both written and spoken
• Strong customer relationship focus
• Impeccable organizational skills with strong eye for detail
• Professional and flexible attitude
• Ability to work unsupervised and with small teams and numerous stakeholders
• Ability to work under pressure, manage projects and to meet deadlines
• Basic accounting skills
• Excellent problem-solving skill
• Experience of living or studying abroad an advantage
• Good negotiation skills


Selection schedule:
