Itabashi Culture & International Exchange Foundation (ICIEF) is recruiting Coordinator for International Exchange (English) to be responsible for translation and interpreting duties at Itabashi City Hall, Tokyo!

●Position ： English/Japanese One
●Contract period : April 2018 to March 2019 (with possibility of extension)

●Description of work
1. Translation of documents produced by Itabashi City
Translation of application forms for procedures at City Hall counters, publications aimed at foreign residents, etc.
2. Interpretation for City Hall operations and services
Interpreting at City Hall counters, meetings and receptions between the Mayor and foreign VIPs etc.
3. Assistance with projects organized by International Exchange Foundation

●Qualifications
1. Applicant should possess both English and Japanese language abilities necessary to perform the above-mentioned duties
(Native English speaker, or equivalent English language ability, also holder of Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) N1, or equivalent Japanese language ability)
2. Applicant should be able to communicate knowledge of lifestyle, culture, etc. of an English-speaking country based on experience of living there
3. Applicant must be legally eligible to work in Japan (or be able to obtain such permission before the contract period starts)

●Terms of Employment
-Work days : 64 hours per month ※Shift system with 1 fixed day
-Hours : 8:45AM-5:30PM (Whole day), 8:45AM-12:45PM or 1:30PM-5:30PM (Half-day)
-Workplace : ICIEF (inside Itabashi City Hall, 2-66-1 Itabashi-ku, Tokyo)
*1-min walk from Toei Mita Line Itabashi-kuyakushomae Station or 10-min walk from Tobu Tojo Line Oyama Station.
-Wages : \14,100 (Whole day), \7,050 (Half-day) * Commuting allowance available

●Selection
Document screening, written exam (translations) on Monday, February 5 and interview (interpretation) on Thursday, March 1.
*Only those who pass document screening will be eligible for written exam. The result will be announced by Friday, January 26.
