描述
Part-time teaching position available (12-15 hours per week) at a private junior-senior high school for girls. Teaching load will be either a combination of ELL and Returnee lessons (U.S. style English literature and grammar) or exclusively ELL. Pay is ¥7,617 per 65-minute lesson, which includes any lesson planning, grading, department meetings, faculty collaboration, or administrative duties that coincide with lessons.
Additionally, there is a paid transportation subsidy to and from school (actual expense). This is a 5-day a week school (Monday - Friday) After school classes are available (voluntary), and are a way to earn extra and generous pay.
At personal expense, teacher may join the National Health Insurance program.
Contract to begin on April 1, 2017 through March 31, 2018. 1-year, renewable contract pending positive performance evaluations.
Basic requirements:
BA/BS degree in English or related field
TESOL or related certification
2 years academic teaching experience, preferably not exclusively ALT or language school experience
Japanese language proficiency (N3 or higher)
Preferred:
Teaching certificate in home country
Master's Degree in English or related field
Experience teaching both ELL and Returnee English
