Gymboree Play & Music is the world’s leading parent-child interactive play, music and arts program for children ages newborn to six years. Designed by experts, our age-appropriate activities help develop the cognitive, physical and social skills of children as they play.

This Spring, in addition to our globally renowned, dynamic and interactive “mommy and me” classes, we will be increasing our offering of preschool and afterschool drop-off classes for 1.5-6-year olds. As a result, we are currently seeking highly motivated, proactive Native English staff to join our team of “mommy and me” and “drop-off” program teachers.

We provide excellent paid training, support, and motivation to help you grow and succeed. Teachers will be thoroughly trained in our methods of teaching, operation of our facilities, and child development. This training requires a commitment to learn and grow, and is a long-term proposition.

We are looking for people who:
・are confident singing and performing in front of large groups
・have a playful and energetic personality and teaching style
・are willing to get involved in the non-teaching aspects of the position (admin, cleaning,
marketing, etc.)
・are interested in learning and working on their Japanese skills

Qualifications:
・Experience working at a pre-school or after-school is preferable.
・Experience performing in front of large groups of children and adults is preferable.

<Typical Workday>
In addition to preparing for and teaching classes, teachers will be asked to help keep the site clean, follow-up with customers, perform admin tasks and help with the overall operations of the site.

<Workplace and Hours>
Location: Motoazabu (Hiroo) and/or Jiyugaoka*
Hours: 8 working hours a day, 3-4 days a week including Saturday or Sunday
Expected Start Date: As soon as possible

* Teachers may be asked to go to another location for training and to cover.

<Monthly Salary>
- The monthly starting salary after training for 4 days a week and 8 working hours a day is 230,000 yen.
- The monthly starting salary after training for 3 days a week and 8 working hours a day is 170,000 yen.
- The salary during the training period** will be 1,500 yen/hour x number of hours worked.

**The initial training period may last up to 2 months depending on your background and ends when you can teach your first class and follow up with your customers on your own.

<Benefits>
Transportation allowance (up to 1,500 yen/day)
