Description

We at 7ACT(Eikaiwa) is currently looking to recruit reliable teachers for seminars teaching Japanese people how to talk about Japanese culture to foreign nationals.
The successful candidate must have a strong sense of responsibility, a sense of humour and care for their students’ improvement.

The work will involve teaching a seminar on the particular Japanese culture subject for 1.5 or 2 hours. (Course times have not been decided yet, and may relate to the teachers experience).

The pay is ¥7,500 for 1.5 hours
And ¥10,000 for 2 hours
And transportation expenses will be reimbursed.

A list of the courses and dates as follows.

Course for Japanese students Learning how to tell Japanese culture to foreign nationals at Osaka International House.

●Seminar for Wafuku (Yukata) and manners
 Held on the 6th of July (Thursday) 

●Seminar for Kabuki (Introducing Kabuki to people from overseas)
 Held on the 19th of July (Thursday)

●Seminar for Japanese tea (Teaching how to express flavor and manners when conducting the ceremony)
 Held on the 21st of September (Thursday)

●Seminar for Washoku (Japanese cuisine) (Teaching basic knowledge about soup, ingredients and the way the cuisine is cooked)
 Held on the 6th of December (Wednesday)

●Seminar for Nou/Kyougen (Teaching the basic knowledge of how to introduce Japanese traditional masked dance-drama to someone from overseas)
 Held on the 12th of December (Tuesday)

●Seminar for Japanese-sake(Nihonshu) (Teaching how to express the flavor, and the correct manners involved when drinking)
 Held on the 15th of Feb 2018(Thursday)

Each course will be either 1.5 or 2 hours.
Handout materials will be provided in a PDF format at least 2 weeks before the seminar, so the teacher can prepare a lesson based on the material.
The concept for all of the seminars is for the students to learn in a fun atmosphere, not to give them a technical lesson. So, a teacher who has somewhat good knowledge of the topics mentioned above will be adequate.

It is not essential for you to be a professional at the subject, but those with a keen interest in the subject are preferred to someone who has just attended an event once or twice.

The Successful applicant must have:
-A valid work visa. (Student, Working holiday visa and Tourist Visas are not accepted)
-Be a native-level English speaker.
-At least 6 months of teaching experience in Japan.
-Confidence, and be able to teach groups of up to 15 people.

Ideal qualities for the position:
- Strong and engaging class presence that maintains student interest.
- Exceptional organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to explain concepts and meanings clearly and concisely.
- Having experience of teaching large groups would be a plus.
- Conversational level Japanese would also be a plus (but not essential).
