Description

We are looking for a confident Native English teacher for young Japanese children ages 0 to 5, daily Monday – Friday in Yodogawa-ku, Osaka. The position will start as soon as possible with a commitment through March 2018 with possibility of renewal based on mutual agreement.

This job provides you with a 25-30 hour work week (gross salary 241,700 - 290,000 / month + various benefits) as well as a terrific opportunity to teach Japanese children and interact with staff at a private nursery school where you will have direct input into the classroom curriculum.

The candidates must have extensive experience working with children at preschool or kindergarten, as well as ESL experience. Candidates ideally should have a university degree, preferably in Education or Early Childhood, love children, have musical skills and possess good interpersonal/team work skills. Candidates MUST currently be residing in Japan and MUST HAVE A SUITABLE VISA.

Basic Job description:

Mainly working as a staff member dealing with kids there. e.g. welcome students at the school and play with them before and after their regular activities and getting involved in regular routines.
No specific pre-training is involved. It is on-the-job training starting as soon as possible paid as salary.

At the nursery, you will help out with duties, always acting as a team member and simply “reading the air” in any given situation. You will create interesting activities for kids during their free time. In a sense it is a duty to get kids interested in English. During working hours you will create a scheduled reading time and other small creative English speaking games, LESSONS, expressions and activities. You’ll also help out with paper work e.g. English preparation, cutting and pasting artwork, preparing crafts etc….., cleaning up …etc… joining in on daycare (nursery) to sing songs, play time etc.

The school needs a part time native English teacher to better promote the English phase and so this position will require the candidate to be proactive, cooperative and responsible to create their image for an English environment. i.e. candidate is the English coordinator at the school.
