Native English Childcare/Teaching Assistant（到期)

About Us

We are a small, independent school founded in 2019 looking to hire like-minded individuals with a strong interest in child-led learning and process art to assist in running and possibly teaching classes to students from the age of 6 months to 6 years. Taking inspiration from the inquiry-based approach to learning, we offer an English immersion class and childcare services with a focus on art and music. We also run seasonal events (Easter, Halloween, Christmas, etc) and take part in local festivals when able.

Responsibility / Duties
o Help to prepare classroom and lesson materials prior to class
o Cleaning and tidying the classroom and foyer area
o Assisting during lessons, specifically helping students to sit or perform simple tasks
o Lessons involve singing, dancing and art, you don’t have to be good, just willing to take part
o In the event that the main teacher is sick, you may be asked to lead the class

Requirements
o Must currently live in Tokyo, Chiba, Kanagawa or Saitama
o Must currently possess a valid visa with work permission
o Native or near-native English ability

The following would be beneficial but not necessary:
o Genuine interest in kids
o Experience working with kids
o Has a degree from an accredited university
o Is optimistic, laid-back, flexible, but also motivated to work hard
o Interests in art, specifically process art, and music
o CELTA or TEFL certification
o Conversational Japanese ability


This position is available immediately. Working hours are flexible – we are happy to work within your schedule if we feel you would be a good fit for our company! An example work day would be from around 9:30am until 3:30pm 2 or 3 days per week (Mon - Fri). Hourly rate is 1500\, negotiable for candidates with relevant experience. As we grow, there will be opportunities for full-time employment.
Though our staff is mainly Japanese, we currently have one native English-speaking employee who will assist with communication in Japanese if necessary.
