English Teacher （期限切れ）

We are an English school (Pre-school & Kindergarten) located in Tokyo, Koto-ku area with students from 1 year 8 months to 6 years of age. We also have students coming for after-school classes (5 years of age ~Elementary school).


Position for an Assistant Teacher (Part time)
Working hours: Approximately: 5 hours a day, 20~25 hours a week
Trial / Training period: up to 3 months
Salary: JPY1,200-JPY1,500/hour
(Starting salary from JPY1,000/hour in case of no experience)
After the trial period ends, salary is open to negotiation depending on the quality of work and feedback from the staff.
We have a Summer & Winter Bonus (dependent on work performance)


Working days & Timings
Monday-Saturday (with Sunday and one weekday off)
Class timings (will vary depending on the class):
Pre-school Kinder 9:30 a.m.-2:00 p.m. / 2:45 p.m.
Afternoon class 3:00 p.m.- 5:30 p.m. /6:30 p.m.

And Saturday 9:30 a.m-12:30 p.m. / 2:00 p.m.


Work content:

Assisting the main teacher with class activities such as taking pictures, helping and supporting the students with classwork, toilet time and lunch time. Also taking lead in certain class activities such as reading a book, planning crafts and organizing games.
As we have our school bus service, the teacher will also be an attendant for the bus to pick and drop the students.
For afternoon classes, our teachers will get a chance to work on developing the class curriculum/structure of lessons and teach different kinds of electives, i.e. Math, Music, Art, etc.

Our teachers are from different parts of the world. Everyone is very cooperative and they share their experiences & ideas to work towards developing a more learning friendly environment. Our classrooms are cozy & the students are very friendly. Our students are coming from different national backgrounds as well and our aim is to
teach our students to understand and speak English fluently and naturally. We are looking for dedicated teachers with a passion to teach and seeking experience in the educational field.
Prior experience is appreciated but not necessary. We would appreciate anyone with plans for long-term stay in Japan as the school year starts from April and ends in March (the following year) and we want the teachers to commit till the end of a school year.
Students, part-time job seekers and inexperienced persons are all highly welcome!!
If you have a certificate in Early Childhood Education, you will receive an extra 10,000 yen a month on top of your regular salary. Please bring the original copy of your certification with you at the time of interview.
