Part-Time English Teacher for Kids (expired)

【Job Description】
Tamagawa Education Center is looking for a part-time English teacher to help teach our GrapeSEED classes.

Tamagawa Education Center is part of Tamagawa Kindergarten, located in Akiruno city in Tokyo, and offers a variety of afterschool programs for children from kindergarten to elementary school. One of these programs is our English classes which use the GrapeSEED curriculum.

Teaching GrapeSEED is quite different from teaching from a textbook. Students progress though Units, and each Unit is made up of a collection of stories, poems, songs and chants, and each lesson is a selection of those materials. The aim is to repeat the same materials over and over, so that over time the students will start to comprehend more and more and naturally pick up the language. Materials and lesson plans are already created by GrapeSEED, so the teacher can focus more on how they will deliver the lesson and how to address any problem areas that might arise.

We are looking for a teacher to help teach lessons on Wednesdays and Thursdays, starting in February. Each day you will be teaching one lesson, of one of our higher elementary classes, and will have some time before and after the lesson to prepare and clean up the materials.

*This job posting is for February and March, but can be extended into the new school year (from April) as well if agreeable to both the candidate and our school.

- Native English ability. Japanese is not necessary.

【Working hours】
Wednesdays: 4:30 ~ 6:30 (2 hours)
Thursdays: 4:30 ~ 6:30 (2 hours)

3000 yen per hour
