Description

A private jun/sen high school in Osaka seeks a part-time teacher who can teach both math and science in English for 9 lessons per week. This is a private school following Japanese governmental course guidelines while implementing an English immersion program. A successful candidate will work collaboratively with Japanese co-teachers.

starting date: May 2021 (on an 11-month contract basis, could be renewed in the following year)
salary: Salary is determined in accordance with school policy and upon careful consideration of the candidate’s teaching experience, abilities, and academic qualifications

*over 120,000 yen per month
*fixed monthly salary paid in August
commuting allowance is available

working hours:
Tuesday: 11:50-15:20 (3 lessons)
Wednesday: 8:45-10:35 (2 lessons)
Thursday: 8:45-12:40 (4 lessons)

visa sponsorship is available

Requirement:
experience in teaching at a Japanese high school
enable to deliver lessons up to 33 students
proficient in the use of computer hardware and software (including MSWord, PowerPoint, etc.)
one can make effective use of technology in the classroom and can mentor students in the effective use of technology to aid learning

Favorable:
experience in teaching science and maths in English at the high school level
understanding the Japanese school system by experience
current resident in Japan
dedicated, hard-working, flexible, resilient, easy-going

Application documents: resume/cv, bachelor's degree or higher, academic transcript, a residence card, and other qualification if any

Japanese language skill is not required but will help to communicate with teachers and other stuff at school.
