Berkeley House Language Center is urgently seeking a cheerful, friendly, and experienced English instructor(s) to fill a year-long part-time teaching position at a private elementary & junior high school in the Tokyo Fuchu area.
We are looking for instructors who ….
-Are a native-level speaker
-Possess a Bachelors Degree from an accredited University, preferable in English or education-related.
-Have a minimum of 3 years of experience teaching English at private elementary and junior high schools in Japan.
-Hold a teaching certificate from an accredited organization, such as CELTA, DELTA, MA TESOL, etc., which should include a practicum as part of the course work.
-Are team-players
-Can start immediately.

April 2021 - March 2022
Work Days:
Monday - Junior High School (JHS)
Wednesday - Elementary School (ES)
Thursday - Elementary School (ES)
*One teacher to teach all days preferable but can have separate instructors for JHS and ES.
Schedule:
Monday - 4 JHS lessons
between 8:40~15:00 (Actual time TBD)
Wednesday - 4 ES lessons
9:45~10:30
10:50~11:35
11:40~12:25
13:15~14:00
Thursday - 2 ES lesson
13:15~14:00
14:05~14:50
Lesson Format:
Lead teacher - team teaching with a Japanese teacher
Responsibility:
Includes the following but not limited to:
-Teach English based on curricula and textbooks provided by the school.
-Assist in providing a safe teaching environment
Selection Process:
Please note that we are competing with other contractors and instructors
Initial screening
Interview and demo lesson
The school will also conduct its own selection process
Salary:
3,000 JPY per lesson + Transportation cost
